9 things you should know about our laminates
HOW LAMINATES ARE MADE
ADMIRA’s High Pressured Laminates (HPL) are made up of layers of different paper types soaked in chemical resins, which are then compressed under extreme high heat and pressure during the production process.
This surface material inherits an easy to maintain, durable water-proof high scratch stain resistance surface, with Class 0 fire resistance properties.
GREEN LABEL CERTIFICATION
Since as early as 2009, ADMIRA’s surface products are already certified under Singapore Green Label Scheme from Singapore Environmental Council (SEC) being an eco-surface material with low toxicity for improved indoor environment usage.
These environmentally preferred surfaces are suitable for any interior design applications and furniture applications.
CLASS ‘0’ FIRE RATED MATERIALS
ADMIRA HPL complies with the Fire Protection requirements set by Fire Safety and Shelter Department (FSSD) in Singapore, and is test certified by official test bodies as a Class 0 fire rated material with low flame spread surface and combustible properties.
Like-wise, the CERARL wall-covering series are also certified as a Class 0 fire rated material from 2012 onwards.
MATCHING EDGEBANDS FOR HPL SURFACES
ADMIRA supplies design-matched PVC Edge-band options with strip widths of 23mm or 45mm, and a thickness of 1mm.
To complement most of the available laminate designs, the similar edgings applied will create seamless edges for the furniture and interior design applications.
POST-FORM GRADE LAMINATES
Suitable for various bench tops and door panel designs, use ADMIRA post-form grade laminates with unique malleable resin properties that allow the bending of laminates around edges up to 5-10mm radius without cracking or breaking.
Use these flexible laminate surfaces to allow dramatic curves into your designs.
ADMIRA’s anti-bacteria grade laminates and CERARL wall-coverings are produced using silver-nano particles in the surface layers that eliminate up to 99% of harmful bacteria on contact.
Even antibiotics resistant bacteria such as Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) are annihilated when in contact.
SURFACE CLEANING TIPS
Cleaning ADMIRA HPL/CERARL surfaces is so simple and easy.
A moist cloth is usually sufficient for cleaning, and using a regular dish-washing liquid is more than sufficient to get rid of any greasy stains.
For more stubborn stains, they can be removed with an organic solvent such as methylated spirits or alcohol.
Brushes with hard bristles (not wired brushes!) may also be used for soft scrubbing.
CARING FOR SURFACES
Proper maintenance and cleaning care will ensure that the ADMIRA brand of surfaces will retain their original protective functions for many years.
Although durable, we do not encourage any application that the HPL/CERARL surfaces are not designed for.
– Using the material surface directly as a chopping board
– Placing hot cookware directly onto the material surfaces (without coasters)
– Exposing the material to open flames or directly burning the surface
– Outdoor direct exposure of material to sunlight
– Pouring corrosive acids directly onto the material surfaces
MARINE GRADE SURFACES
A preferred surfaces material for marine shipbuilding interior specifications and applications.
ADMIRA HPL surfaces complies with the Fire Protection requirements set by Marine Equipment Directive (MED), internationally certified by bodies like DNV, RINA and CSI as a water-resistant low flamespread surface material that does not generate excessive smoke nor toxic products in a fire.
